OUR PROGRAM
This course analyses the interactions between competition policies at the international level, particularly between the United States and the European Union: legislation differences, conflict and requirements for multinational firms, risks related to juridical security, challenges linked with the harmonization of antitrust legislations. Students will present a study from the International Competition Network: oral presentation and written report. There will be a final written exam.
Two hours will be dedicated to research methodology to prepare student for their master’s thesis.

TEACHER
Constance Monnier-Schlumberger is a university lecturer at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, where she teaches competition policies and economics. She also taught at ESCP Europe French Business School. Before here doctorate in economics, she studied political sciences at the Institute of Political Sciences in Paris (Sciences Po), economics at Paris 1 University and University of Birmingham, as well as European Law at Paris 1 University. Since 2013, she is a non-governmental adviser for the International Competition Network (ICN). On this basis, she participated in ICN’s work on cartels and abuses of dominant position. Constance Monnier-Schlumberger’s publications deal with economics and competition policies, focusing on cartels.
